Finish What You Start

I’m sure we are all just as guilt as the next person when it come to either forgetting about something, or having something fall through… but together, we all need to change that!

It is sooo important to finish anything you start becasue it shows dedication to others and it holds yourself accountable to your tasks. Whether it be a big or small, long or short term task, you need to hold yourself accountable and finish it. I know it might be quite the journey or process along the way, but, in the end you’ll be better becasue of it!

Lately, I have been having a hard time wanting to follow through on tasks that I once was so excited and driven for. After realizing that I was in a “funk” and not in the best mindset I decided to think about why I even started to begin with. It is so easy to forget the main reason behind anything and everything we do, especially long term tasks or personal goals… but, fear not! We just need to remember why we started. For example I stated college to get a degree, and this is a long term goal of mine becasue it will take a few years to finish. When I get in a “funk”, or bad state of mind, I just need to remind myself that that is why I am here, and that I will eventually complete this goal.

Every hour, day, month, or year that you spending working towards your task or goal gets you a little closer to completing it.  And, once you accomplished it you will feel so satisfied and proud of yourself for working so hard on something you once started! You can look back on all that you had to go through and accomplish and feel like a stronger and better person becasue of it.

With each day we change, learn, grow, and experience knew things. Becasue of this we sometimes forget why we even started a task or goal in the first place, but we just need to remember our why. Remembering our “whys” helps us in the long run for completing the things we start. When we hold ourselves accountable to our tasks and goals, and work towards them, we get closer to finishing them. And, once they are completed it will be a great thing to look back on.

Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm, it’s something we all have… wether you chose to use it or not, ya still have it! 🙂 Being enthusiastic about life and all the events within it really helps make it more vibrant and bright! It adds a little pep to your step and an extra smile to your face. When we go about our days with enthusiasm it makes it oh so enjoyable, and what’s not to love about that?!

Think about all the things you’ve achieved in your life so far, now, have you done them with enthusiasm, or have you just kinda allowed yourself to drift by? If you chose the latter you might want to reconsider your plan of attack for getting things done 😉 You can totally do anything you set your mind to, but, it helps to have the right attitude. When we do anything with a good attitude it makes it more meaningful and enjoyable for you, and the people around you. Not only that, but it also shows you care. When you go about your tasks with excitement and enthusiasm other people will notice and realize that you do care about what you are working on/ working towards. People will want to feed off of your good energy and surround themselves by you. People like to be lead by example, so, be that good example and start transforming peoples mindsets! 🙂

You have the choice to either be excited and enthusiastic about what you are doing in life, or not. It is really all just a mind game. Don’t allow yourself to get stuck in a rut of negativity or mundane attitude. If you tell yourself that you are excited and happy for something, then you will become excited and happy! Even if you have to fake it till you make it, you will eventually come to the better mindset. And trust me, you’ll be happy you did!

Take today to be enthusiastic about your tasks! Others will notice and you’ll feel great! 🙂

Healthy Living

Loving and taking care of ourselves is sooo important. We always want to feel good in our own skin, and why shouldn’t we?! When we feel good in our skin it helps us feel more confident and strong. *insert arm flex emoji here* We need to create the best versions of ourselves to feel our best! We need to do this by fueling our bodies with good food and exercise! I am very passionate about healthy living and having a healthy lifestyle, (and I know that’s not the case for everyone ;)) I truly feel that with a healthy lifestyle anyone can be on top of their game.

Trust me when I say I love dessert just as much as the next person but it’s all about moderation. I know you’ve heard this a million times but it’s so true! We can’t expect ourselves to be on top of our game when we are fueling our bodies with the wrong kinds of foods! It is so important to eat a well balanced diet with lots of fruits and veggies, and an occasional dessert ;). With the right nutrients and vitamins our bodies can be at their very best!

Other than eating healthy we need to be working our bodies too! I find that too many people put their needs and health on the backseat burner, and that shouldn’t be the case. I know that it can be hard becasue people “lack time”, (I use the excuse every once in awhile too ;)) but really you don’t, you just need to find and make the time. If you truly want to feel your absolute best you’ll make the time. If you need to go earlier in the morning, later at night, in between classes, or whenever you have a few extra minutes. It doesn’t even have to be a crazy workout, you could just go for a walk round the block or stand at your desk. Anything to get your body up and moving is better than nothing!

I know some people need extra motivation or encouragement, and if that’s the case for you find a workout or encouragement buddy! Go to the gym with them or have them text you reminders to get up and get moving! I personally enjoy going to the gym with my mom or some friends. It helps make the experience more fun and enjoyable! So, if you haven’t done this before I suggest ya give it a go at least once! 🙂

Take today to nourish and fuel your body! Make today great and get moving!

Take a Break!

When was the last time you took a break, or had some time to yourself? When was the last time you had a vacation, or just a free afternoon with nothing to do? My guess is that it has been far too long since you have given yourself a break from your crazy busy schedule. And this my friends is not okay!

Trust me, I know how it goes… It is so easy to get busy beyond compare with work, school, family, and friends. It just always seems like there isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish everything and still feel sane. In reality, we can’t change how many hours there are in day, but we can change how we go about our days. If you find yourself busiest during the night, wake up a little bit earlier and take some time for yourself, and vice versa. Or, if you are just too busy during the week for that, take a few hours during the weekend just for yourself. Read a book, go for a walk, take a nap, anything, just anything to give yourself some time to decompress and relax.

It is so important that we give ourselves a break from our busy lives and just take a step back. Doing so helps us refresh and rejuvenate. If we didn’t do this every now and again the consequences could add up. We could be affected by becoming burnt out, physically, and mentally drained- and this is something that we want to avoid!

For me to avoid “burn out” I enjoy waking up early in the morning and just taking it easy. This works for me and my hectic schedule, and I’m just a morning person by nature. 🙂 I love taking some time to myself before the day gets started, it just sets the right tone for the rest of the day. Doing this also helps me feel prepared for the day and ready to tackle it head on!
