When was the last time you took a break, or had some time to yourself? When was the last time you had a vacation, or just a free afternoon with nothing to do? My guess is that it has been far too long since you have given yourself a break from your crazy busy schedule. And this my friends is not okay!
Trust me, I know how it goes… It is so easy to get busy beyond compare with work, school, family, and friends. It just always seems like there isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish everything and still feel sane. In reality, we can’t change how many hours there are in day, but we can change how we go about our days. If you find yourself busiest during the night, wake up a little bit earlier and take some time for yourself, and vice versa. Or, if you are just too busy during the week for that, take a few hours during the weekend just for yourself. Read a book, go for a walk, take a nap, anything, just anything to give yourself some time to decompress and relax.
It is so important that we give ourselves a break from our busy lives and just take a step back. Doing so helps us refresh and rejuvenate. If we didn’t do this every now and again the consequences could add up. We could be affected by becoming burnt out, physically, and mentally drained- and this is something that we want to avoid!
For me to avoid “burn out” I enjoy waking up early in the morning and just taking it easy. This works for me and my hectic schedule, and I’m just a morning person by nature. 🙂 I love taking some time to myself before the day gets started, it just sets the right tone for the rest of the day. Doing this also helps me feel prepared for the day and ready to tackle it head on!
