When Things Don’t Go as Planned

Life is full of surprises, some good and some not so good. Things happen and things get out of control and don’t go as planned… Everything that could go wrong- does, and the excitement you had- vanishes. As unfortunate as it might seem, it happens… and it happens when you had expected it not to.

It’s easy to get caught up in the moment of events when they don’t go the way you had hoped it to, but somethings are just out of our control. As much as we would all like to, we can’t control how other people act or respond in situations. The only thing we can do is do our best to handle the situation at hand, and remind ourselves that it is not our fault. When things workout this way it’s important to know that we didn’t do anything wrong… we need to remind ourself that we did the absolute best we could.

When this happens we just need to roll with the punches and tackle one task at a time and then move on to the next one. Try to, to the best of your ability, handle the situation in a calm manor and in a good state of mind. Try to not let your emotions get the best of you- easier said than done, trust me. How you act and respond effects other people and their actions. The crowd will mirror how you are acting and responding when things aren’t working out the way you had planned. And if your situation doesn’t involve a crowd, still try to handle it in a good state of mind, for nothing good is ever accomplished in a bad one.

And lastly, take the situation and learn from it. Although the situation didn’t go as planned and, that is out of your control, learn what you can do differently for next time. Is there anything that could be done better for next time? is there anything that could have been prevented? or, did you do your absolute best and it was just a fluke experience? Try to find the bright side, even if it is just a tiny little one, it’s still there, and try to find joy in it. 🙂

Life is full of ups and downs, sometimes the best we can do is just roll with it. 🙂

Take today to be grateful for all the ups in your life, and don’t beat yourself up for all the downs. Things happen. Things get out of our control, and we just need to learn from it.

And, as always, have a great day!

Be Yourself

Have you ever had a time were you felt ashamed of who you were? Or, have you ever had someone question you on why you are the way you are? If so, don’t worry- I’ve been there too… and all I can say is just ignore it! I know that is easier said than done, especially when it comes from people you really value and admire…but you just need to “be you, do you, for you”. 😉

Be shamelessly proud of who you are, and don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself either- becasue no one has the right to tell you how to live your life. When you live your life so genuine to who you are people will see that and admire you for it. You will be so happy and confident in your own skin that you are unstoppable and can do anything.

6efea3755a9407261be795d2fdd920dfNever ever change who you are just for someone else! If you are genuinely happy and satisfied with who you are, then they can learn to love and accept you. And if not, then that is their loss, not yours!

Be proud of who you are and don’t hide it! Share with the world all your special talents, skills, abilities, ect.! If you have kick butt skills in art or cooking, or some mad talent in the science lab, OWN IT! Don’t try to hide who you are to the rest of the world. If you love health and fitness and feel so passionate about it, great! Now own it and talk to people about it! It’s okay to talk about yourself and tell people what you’re good at! No one will think you’re gloating because people enjoy knowing about others lives and ‘hidden talents’! And who knows, maybe you’ll find your future career by talking to people and describing what you’re passionate about- hello networking! 😉

If you have been ashamed of who you are, stop! Decide to make a change right now! A change to love and accept yourself. You deserve to be happy, and the world wants to see you be happy! Everyone deserves to live the life they have imagined and be who they want to be, so “be you, do you, for you”! 🙂

Take some time today to do some self reflecting. Are you sharing with the world your ‘hidden talents’? Are you hiding who you really are to the rest of the world? Do you need to stand up for yourself more? Think about it and make some changes if you need to… 😉

NEVER be ashamed of who you are. Live the life YOU have imagined.

Take today, and the rest of you life, to be who YOU want to be!

Have a great day and be YOU!

Go For It!

Have you ever wanted something sooo bad you could just see it and almost feel it?! Have you ever been so excited for something to happen you couldn’t wait?! Now, have you ever let those opportunities slip right through your finger? Yeah, same… Either something goes wrong on our end, or it’s just something we can’t control. Then we tell ourselves, “that’s okay, it’s no big deal. I wasn’t even that excited anyways”. Bump bump bump…WRONG! Obviously if we were that excited about it, it was a big deal to us to begin with!

When we have goals, visions, and dreams that we are so ecstatic and excited about we have to do everything on our power to make sure that they happen! If we are that excited or hopeful for something, then that is reason enough to make sure we accomplish it! There is always more to the story than the eye can see. You never know what you’ll get out of it in the end, and chances are it is 99.99% beneficial to you in some way.

When we do our best to accomplish our goals, visions, and dreams we become the best version of ourselves possible. We learn what we like and don’t like, and what works for us and what doesn’t. We need these opportunities to discover who we are and what we what from this world.

We need to stop using excesses and telling ourselves lies, instead we need to just go for it! If you envision yourself as an Interior Designer, call a local business and set up a job shadow, or take a design class. Don’t tell yourself lies by saying, “no, that’s just a dream, there is no way I could actually do that”. Stop and decide to just go for it and try it out! You never know until you try!

Take risks, try new things, expand your horizon… do all things possible to try and reach all your goals, visions, and dreams! And don’t stop-ever! Even if you think you’ve accomplished them all, you are going to change with time and you’ll create new goals, visions, and dreams! And that my friend is a good thing because it means you are growing and expanding- yay!

Take today to just- go for it! Think of all your own goals, visions, and dreams. What can you do today to get one step closer to accomplishing them?

Read. Set. Go!

Got For It!

I asked a friend of mine what I should write about this week and she said persistence. As I thought about it, it occurred to me that I have never really thought of persistence before in a deeper meaning… I know persistence is the action we take to keep going during hard or strenuous times, but why do we do it? Why don’t we just give up? Why don’t we just quit? So I pondered these questions and this is what I came up with… 🙂

I heard a quote once that said, “If I persist long enough, eventually I will win”. The thing is, we all know and have confidence in ourselves and our own abilities, we just need to know how to use them. We know that we can do anything we set our minds to if we are determined. We know if we are dedicated to achieving something we will. We know what we have to do in order to get what we want, it’s just about our self control and motivation that gets us there. For example, I know I can get an ‘A’ in a class if I study hard, do my homework, and get good test grades. If I keep my motivation and moral high enough during the semester, I know I will win in the end with a good final grade. Knowing this and having faith in myself helps me remember to keep going and persist through the hard times…or just my moments of low moral.

We don’t quit on things that are important to us becasue we value them, and things that we value drive us. I probably say “I just want to give up and drop out of school” way too many times in a week than necessary, 😉  but I know I will never drop out becasue education is something that I value very highly in my life. I set high standards and values for myself. For example, I value following through on things and finishing what I start. Knowing and understanding this about myself helps me persist and conquer anything and everything I start.

We don’t give up and quit on things that we know are important to us. We know and understand that going through hard times make us better and stronger in the long run. We know that even in our low points there is a light at the end of the tunnel and things will get better. We know we have what it takes to finish a task and follow through. We just have to use our knowledge and self motivation to use our persistence and conquer all elements in our world.

Nevertheless, you will persist. Take today and work through your hard task. Remember why you started, and remember the importance of your values.

Use your persistence to persist 😉

Have a great day!
