Show Your Greatness

Show-Your-GreatnessCurrently, I am listening to a great audio book called Rise Sister Rise by Rebecca Campbell, and it is AMAZING! This book is filled front to back with knowledge, insight and wisdom. While listening to it I have filled my journal with notes, quote, and other little tid-bits to say the least… Every time I listen I take away something new and striking, it’s almost like I am learning from a great teacher, but only in the palms of my hands! 😉

After countless inspirational and motivational quotes I have jotted down, one sticks out to me more so than the others. It’s about staying true to who you are at all times, and it goes like this, “Flowers don’t open and close depending on who is walking by- they show their beauty regardless. Don’t let someone else’s presence change your true nature.” Like hold up, WOW! Now that is impactful! As soon as I heard that I felt a light bulb go off in my head (Ahha!) and it struck me to my core. It made me think to myself, have I been “opening and closing” depending on who I’m with? Am I letting myself be affected by others? It really got me thinking, and this is what I have to share:

Like my post last week about judging and seeing ourselves in others, in order to show our true nature and greatness, we need to allow ourselves to be open. We shouldn’t close and open depending on who we are around. We should want to show our true greatness and true selves to anyone and everyone! It shouldn’t matter if we are talking to a CEO or a co-worker, we should be open and show our beautiful selves off! Being proud or confident is not a bad thing, it shows faith and certainty- so own it! Stop believing the lie that others are intimidating or that they will affect you, instead, see them with love and equality. We should have confidence in ourselves and let no one affect us. We want to be true to ourselves becasue that’s who we are and that’s who we know.

We need to be confident in ourselves and give us our own seal of approval. If we are looking for approval and recognition from others then, we are throwing away our own self approval and downing our self-confidence. We don’t need others approval, and we don’t need them to tell us who we are. Our beauty and greatness should be shown to all and we should always be open.

Don’t let others affect us and we’ll always be our true selves.

And this is just one of the many lessons I have learned from Rise Sister Rise. If you have any great book recommendations please, by all means, send them my way! I am always looking for books that I can learn and grow from. 🙂

Do you notice yourself opening and closing around specific people? Do you always stay true to who you are? How do you give yourself approval and recognition?

As always,

Have a great day!

and p.s. happy fall! 😉

Seeing Yourself in Others

Seeing-Yourself-in-othersWhen you look at someone, what do you see? Do you see the whole person- mind, body, and spirit? Do you see their energy? Do you see love? Or, do you see your own insecurities as a reflection in them?

Lately, I’ve noticed that we are so quick to judge others before we realize we are doing it. We’ll be looking at a person, and BAM, we start judging! We don’t see them for who they are, but rather, we see them for what they look like or act like. We start to create these preconceived judgments about this person, before we even get to know them- and this is not okay. We are doing ourselves no favors, and we are only hurting the other person as well. It doesn’t matter if they know what you are thinking or saying becasue it effects them either way. People are sensitive and can pick up on vibes right away, especially low vibes. As a result, this can lead to the judgement coming right back at you.

Now, I understand that this might not be a continuous occurrence for everyone, but, slip-ups can happen and we don’t mean for them to.

And why is that? Why do we judge others and ourselves?

Here’s what I think…

Ask someone their strengths, and they might not know. Ask someone their weaknesses, and I bet they’d know. (And could probably give you a list of ten or so..)

Individually, we transform our weaknesses (“flaws”) into our strengths. Not a strength that one excels at, rather, one that is known. We become overly aware, and in-tune, to everything we think is “wrong” with ourselves. We overlook all the beauty, and focus on the imperfect. But really, there is no “imperfect”- we are all perfect in our own ways. 😉

As a result, overly focusing on our weaknesses causes us to pick them out in others, and fast! They tend to be the first qualities we see in others and start to scrutinize them for it. But really, we are just trying to overcompensate for our own insecurities to try and make ourselves feel better. For example, if I were to have crooked teeth, and that’s a big insecurity of mine, that’s the first thing would I see in others. I would start thinking about them negatively and why they couldn’t get their teeth fixed. From there on, I’d spiral down the judgment hole. The reason is, I am always thinking and concerning about my teeth, the more I manifest that energy around it. It’s the same as when you want to buy a new car. The moment you decide on what car you want, you start seeing it everywhere!

We need to stop focusing on our own weaknesses to stop judging others. We need to start seeing people as love and light and see them for who they are. And finally, we need to stop focusing on our “weaknesses” because we have none! We are all equal and we are all love.

Do you catch yourself judging people throughout the day? Do you turn your weaknesses into your strengths? How can you use today to see people with love?

As always,

Have a great day!!

Vision Board

Manifest your life and create your reality with a vision board! They are fun and easy to make and bring you to where you want to go.

If you are unfamiliar with the idea of a vision board allow me to explain… A vision board is quite simply, a board with all your visions on it. There are no limits as to what can, and can’t go on it. You can put anything on there from your dream home, to your dream job, but there is one thing is, aim for images/words that make you feel a particular way. If your dream job involves you feeling secure and valued, then put those word on your board, or an image that represents that. This way you will want to feel those feeling when you look at your board. You’ll want to attract those feelings into your life and keep them there.

The idea behind creating a vision board is that you are suppose to see it everyday and and do short visualization exercises. You are suppose to see it, think about it, and feel it. By doing this, you are allowing your visions to become your reality, naturally. You see the images and phrases and you want them to happen to you, so you start attracting and acquiring them into your life. You are putting your thoughts and feelings out into the universe and they start coming back to you.

Why it works- Visualizing is a great exercise for the brain because what we focus on, becomes. We create a positive energy towards these feelings and things, that we naturally attract them. You are sending signs out to the Universe and allowing it to take over.

Visualizing is nothing new, famous athletes, and even Oprah, have been using it to attract all their desires into their life. This stuff really works, and I suggest you try it out, fast!

This summer I created my own vision board and it was so fun to make! On it I have powerful words and affirmations, images of things I want to accomplish, and feelings I want to have. My board is sitting in my room where I can see it all the time. Every time I see it, I visualize it and feel it. I see my future and feel what it will be like. I feel the feelings I am attracting and I experience the emotions that come along with it.

I am creating my reality, and man oh man is it working! Just like I was saying last week in my manifestation post, the Universe is working real fast and in crazy, awesome ways! I totally believe that it will work out this way for you too, but only if you commit to it and visualize it!

If you haven’t created a vision board yet, take today to make one! Dream big and find the feelings you want to feel. Put your favorite pictures, magazine cut outs, words and affirmations on it. Design it to fit you and your style. Add some glitter if you want for a sparkly fun touch 😉

Have you made a vision board before? If so how? Did you find those things happening in your life? Do you want to create your own reality?

As always,

Have a great day!

Manifestation

IMG_2207

If you’re big into the self-help world, Law of Attraction or spirituality, chances are you are familiar with the idea of manifestation, or even practice it, but if not, allow me to explain… Manifesting means you are visualizing and creating your own reality by working with and through the Universe. You are putting your thoughts and energy out into the world, and sending signs to the Universe. You are sending signs that what you are visualizing, you actually want to happen. For example, if I wanted to live in a house on a particular road in a particular town, I would visualize myself living in an actual house on that specific road that is in that town. I would feel the feeling and emotions of living there, I would visualize myself walking through the house and doing my daily tasks- I’d visualize and feel as if I was already living there.

Manifesting is an awesome and crazy thing because it actually works! With the right intentions and mindset you can accomplish all of your goals and dreams. The cool thing is, your mind can’t tell the difference between actual events and dreams, so when you are doing the manifestations it’s actually believing that it is real- so cool, right?! The only thing that is telling us it’s not real, is ourselves, and we are the only ones holding us back from living in our reality. In order to do so, we need to give up our all to the Universe and surrender our negative thoughts.

Once you start manifesting your reality, start to be aware of and pick up on signs. Manifesting does not work over night, and it is a continual work in progress. You need to have full faith and confidence that the Universe is working in your favor and things are going your way. In order to receive this confirmation, the Universe works in wonderful and mysterious ways. It will start to give signs and identifications that your reality is in the works and it is on its way to becoming true. These signs can be big or small, so always be aware and quick to pick up on things. Going back to the house example, a sign for me could be seeing the name of that specific road multiple times over the course of the week, or seeing similar houses go up for sale in the same neighborhood. It doesn’t matter how it comes across, what matters is that your reality is in the works and closer than you think.

Lately, I’ve been having my own experiences with manifestation, and let me tell you, the Universe is working real quick. It has given me multiple major signs that my reality is coming true. The Universe must really agree with me that this needs to be my reality and fast. Receiving these signs has been a reassurance to me that the Universe is working in my favor and continuously guiding me down the right path. I am loving the experiences I have been having, and I am so excited to see when my reality actually comes true.

If you haven’t tried manifesting before, I highly encourage you to give it a shot! Start with something small and go up from there. See how long it takes you to receive your first sign, but patience is key! You can’t rush the timing of the Universe, so, know that they will come when needed. Have faith and have fun, and start manifesting your reality!

Have you tried manifesting before? If so how did you know when you started living in your reality? Did the Universe send you any signs?

As alway,

Have a great day!

Outfits from August

Happy September first everyone! Man or man, I know I say this every month, but, the months are just flying by! I cannot believe that it is already this late in the year! But on the bright side of things, I am so looking forward to the change of the season, and even better yet, fall fashion! Ekk I’m so excited! The past few weeks at Primp we have started getting fall shipments in, and let me tell you, they are good! Think chunky knit sweaters, cool jackets, fun cardigans and sweater dresses- uh heaven, right?!

August was such a weird month, weather wise. It was fairly mild and rainy almost all month long. I even had to pull out my jeans and button ups for a few days! I was so not ready for that! Usually the month of August is hot and humid here in Minnesota, but I guess that’s just how mother natures plays. 😉 So, here ya have it, an overview of some of my outfits for this past month- Enjoy!

This is the same top as above, but in a different color! Yes I loved it that much, ha! This time I paired it with a pair of darker wash jeans and glittery loafers, becasue why not. This look made for an urban and edgy vibe. I loved how easy and simple it was to throw together and wear!

This off the shoulder top will forever always be my favorite. I love how fun and whimsical it is! I paired this fun top with my trusty denim skirt and lace up flats. I love all the different elements and details in this fun and summery look!
