January and 2018 Intentions

2018 and Jan Intentions

I have never been a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. They always seem to have too much hype and not enough support. They can kind of be impractical to hold all year long… We get excited to create them, only to forget about them a few weeks later when something else captures our attention. Then, when we stray from them, we get upset with ourselves for not following through and sticking to our plan. And really, the excitement dies down after the first month of the year…

But, by setting intentions for the year and at the beginning of each month, it helps us stay fresh and up to date with ourselves and our goals. It helps us focus more on the here and now, rather than what we’ll being doing for the next twelve months. Intentions are about enjoying the journey and staying mindful of what it is you want. There isn’t a timeline to follow, a deadline to meet, or impractical goal with the wrong idea.

Intentions are meant to help us be in the present while we aim for our future.

Last month my December intention was to focuses on intentional living. I would like to say I lived in that intention all month long and did my best to enjoy the process, but I didn’t. Things happen and it’s okay! I didn’t focus on it every day, but the majority of the days I did, and that’s what it’s all about. Our intentions aren’t meant for us to obsess or worry over, they are meant to be naturally incorporated into our everyday lives.

So, I am encouraging you to write down what you want your intention(s) for 2018 and January to be and incorporate them, organically, into your everyday life.

I am dedicating the year of 2018 to the intention of love. I want to surround myself with love, be with the people I love, do things I love, see people through the eyes of love, spread love, and find love.

This is going to be the year of love.

I already have these aspects of love in my life, but this year, I want to amplify it even more! So, I am setting the intention of love for the next twelve months (and beyond, because let’s be real, who doesn’t love love?!) and I am SO excited to see what happens and how my life with evolve moving forward. I guess we’ll have to wait and see 🙂

For January, I am setting the intention of welcoming newness into my life.

I want to welcome new experiences, new opportunities, new people, and the new year into my life with the biggest open arms ever! With it being the beginning of the year, and me starting new classes at school, there will be some change, and I want to welcome that change. I want to say “yes” to more people, and more things and experience life more.

This is going to be the month of welcoming.

I, and I think all of us, can easily become stuck in our ways and daily routines that we forget there is more out there. We kind of just get stuck in our little bubbles and overlook what’s on the other side. So, I want to challenge myself, and maybe you?!, to get really uncomfortable and break that up with some fun and refreshing newness. A new class, a new friend, a new experience, a new anything really!

I am SO beyond excited to see what 2018 and January has in store for all of us! I just know it is going to be a fantastic year and month! I can feel it, trust me! 😉

What are your January intentions? Have you ever successfully finished a New Years resolution list? How are you going to grow in 2018?

Have a great day!

10 things I learned in my first year of blogging

Ahq (63 of 112)_previewHOLY COW FRIENDS I have officially been blogging for one solid year now, how exciting is that?! I would just like to start off with a thank you! Thank you for sticking around and seeing what I have to post each and every week. I appreciate it more than you probably know! 🙂

In this wild ride of a year I have learned so much and have made so many great connections! I am so thankful for it all! Trying something new can be a challenge, but it’s always worth it in the end! For todays post, I thought it would be kind of fun to round up a few key things I learned throughout the year. And don’t worry, they aren’t only pertained to blogging, they fit life in general too!

Ahq (59 of 112)_previewSo, read on and enjoy! I am excited to see what the next year brings!

1. Stepping out of your comfort zone is exhilarating and rewarding! Creating this blog was my way of trying something new. I love following bloggers and always thought it would be fun to create one of my own, so I did! I am really putting myself out here and being vulnerable and real all the time, and you know what? it feels amazing! Try stepping out of your comfort zone sometime and see how it makes you feel! I bet you’ll feel more alive. 😉

2. When you really value and love something, you’ll make time for it, always. There have been countless times where I have put off writing my blog post for the week and waited until the last minute to do it. I often tell myself, “it’s okay if I skip this week, I don’t really need to post” but then after that, I realize that I actually do want to write and have a post go up. Even if it’s just writing a simple little post on Sunday night, I am still determined to have something go up. I love what I do so much that I want to stay accountable to myself and be in the right mindset! Find something you love and stick with it!

3. Stop caring about what others think and just do you! The second I stopped caring about what others thought of me was the second I started fully living my life. And really, the truth of the reality is no one is actually thinking of you in the way you think they are. Live your life for you and only you! Do things that make you happy and make you feel good! Block the haters out and surround yourself with the love and support you deserve!

4. Don’t be afraid to ask for helpI wrote a whole post about this here, and it’s so true! We aren’t meant to do everything on our own. It’s more than okay to ask for help when you need it! And to go along with that, don’t be afraid to give help and to receive help from someone when they offer it, and remember, always say thank you! 😉

Ahq (64 of 112)_preview5. It’s okay to put yourself out there and talk about yourself. This kind of goes along with not caring what others think about you, but it relates more to sharing who you are and what your story is. Don’t get embarrassed to talk about yourself and what your passion, goals, and dreams are! The more you share your story the more people want to support you and cheer you on! But, more than anything, what ever you do, don’t ever put yourself down/ dumb yourself down. Own who you are and talk about the things you have accomplished that you have worked long and hard for, #GetItGirl! (and guy ;)) You deserve to get recognized and known for all your hard work, so don’t be afraid to talk about it when people ask! 🙂

6. Comparison kills. The grass is always greener on the other side, only as long as we are looking for it! Sure, it would be really easy for me to compare my blog to others but the thing is, I’m not them and they aren’t me. We are all on different journeys and we are right where we need to be. Same goes for everyone in general, keep your eyes on your prize and don’t compare yourself to others. There is nothing worse than comparing ourselves to others and then feeling down and out for who we are/ what we have. Comparison kills, so just don’t do it.

7. Trust your gut and listen to your first instinct. You know when you ask someone for an opinion and they say one thing but you really wanted them to say another, yeah that’s my point. Tune in and listen to yourself more often and see what you have to say. No one knows yourself better than you, so why not listen a little more? We always have an initial reaction to everything, so go with your gut and listen to your first instinct.

8. Be confident with who you are and love yourself! There is nothing more beautiful than holding yourself poise and walking with confidence. Be proud of who you are and hold that head up high, tell yourself that you are beautiful and lovable, and be you! Never be afraid to try out a new style, make a major life decision, or tell someone you love them. Do it all with confidence and you’ve got it down.

9.NEVER stop learning, growing, and challenging yourself. And no, not just learning in school. Read books, have a mentor, ask questions, try something new, challenge people, do your own research, create your own opinions, and don’t be afraid to say no. The best learning lessons come from mistakes of our own, so don’t be afraid to make those either! 😉

10. Learn to laugh at yourself! Laugh and just brush things off because life will go on, I promise! I have made A TON of spelling mistakes, grammar errors and what not and I so appreciate when someone lets me know. Rather than just getting embarrassed or mad at myself, I just laugh and continue on with my day. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not getting hung up on the little things. And same goes for when you are walking down the side walk and trip over your own feet, ha! Just smile and laugh it off! If anything, you made someone else smile for it too!

And there we have it! A fun little summary of a few things I learned in my first year of blogging! I hope you enjoyed thing post becasue it was a fun one to write and think about! And with the new year just beginning, a big and happy NEW YEAR to you! I wish you all the happiness and success in the world! I hope this is your biggest and best year ever and I mean it! And for now…

Have a great day!

And P.S. these are my beautiful friends who just happen to be my co-workers! We had a fun photoshoot the other day by the beautiful and talented Alice Hq Photography!

Outfits from December

The end of December is upon us and 2018 is almost here! And here we are with our last and final monthly outfit post for the year! Crazy how fast time flies when you are having fun and just living your life 🙂

For me, December was filled with killer outfits, fun events, spending time with friends and family and celebrating Christmas, of course! It was filled with everything that I just love, and what a perfect way to end the year!

Below I have included a few of my favorite outfits from this past month that I wanted to share. Some looks may have made the blog previoulsy, or IG, and some are new. So take a look and get inspired to create a fun, new outfit of your own.

Enjoy and I’ll be back in the new year!🎉

At the beginning of the month I got to attend the Fire and Ice Ball. It was so much fun and such an amazing experience! If you ever get the chance to go, go! For the night I wore this lovely Express dress that I had in my closet from one of my high school formals. It worked out perfectly and made me happy that I didn’t pervasively sell all my  formal dresses! It’s a pretty simple and classy dress with a satin fabric and slit down the middle. I love it so much and felt comfortable in it all night!

I got to work one day and wasn’t completely feeling my outfit, so what do I do?! I throw a scarf on, belt it, and bam! a whole new outfit is created! As a base underneath I have a long sleeve tunic and gray lace skirt that is peeking out at the bottom. I also paired it with my favorite, and only if we are being honest here ;), over the knee boots and some fun accessories. This look made for a fun and casual look that I enjoyed wearing!

Okay, this was such a fun and totally out of my comfort zone look! I have seen this trend all over the place lately and really wanted to try it out, so I did! And man was it so much fun to wear! As I have it captioned in the picture, this look is very Topshop inspired and a tad bit edgy. So what I did to create this look was pair my favorite black turtle neck with my favorite summer sun dress. Then I added some black tights and my trusty black booties. For this look I wish I would have had an edgier pair of booties with some fun hardware or studs, but ya know, I had to work with what I had.

This was a fun all black look with a little bit of pop! I had this skirt hanging in my closet, that I kind of forgot about honestly, and was inspired to create a look around it. Since it’s more of a winter plaid, I wanted it to still be warm and cozy while being cute at the same time. So what I did was pair it with a black blazer, tights, and some flats, with a tad bit of sparkle with the statement necklace. I also straightened my hair, which I almost never do, ha! It kind of felt weird and I am not sure if I like it or not 😝

Again, a skirt and OTK boot combo, can you tell what I have been loving lately? For this look I wanted it to be clean and simple. I really wanted to showcase this J. Crew skirt and how pretty and well crafted it is, so I paired it with other solids. I took the same turtleneck as above, but this time in a gray with the same tights and boots to make this timeless and classy look. It was so fun and easy to wear!

My friend Liz and I checked out the cutest little store the other day and had so much fun doing a photoshoot! Here I am wearing one of my coziest sweaters, that I adore! I actually got it at Gap Kids haha! I love finding things in the kids section because they almost always fit me better and they are cheaper too, score! I also love wearing anything in a darker green because it really highlights my hair, skin, and eyes! I completed this look with a dark wash pair of skinny jeans, OTK boots and some fun tassel earrings.

And there we have it friends! A few of my favorite looks from the month of December to end off this year on a fashionable note. I am so over the moon excited for the new year and all the amazing things it will bring. I think it’s going to be the best year yet, I can just feel it! Also, Monday is my ONE YEAR blogging anniversary! Whoop whoop!! Each and every day I am so so so thankful for all of you, and everything that I get to do!  So, be sure to check back on Monday to read my one year post 🙂

Until then,

Have a great day!

Happy Holidays

happy-holidaysMerry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I just wanted to pop on in here today to wish you, and all of your loved ones, a very merry Christmas! Enjoy every second you get to spend surrounded by all your friends and family and truly feel all the love <3.

Go ahead and hug your grandma extra tight, give your aunt a kiss on the cheek, and cradle that new born cousin in your arms. It’s a magical time of year and these moments are always extra special. So be with your loved ones and truly be present. Tell them and show them just how much they mean to you! Make them feel appreciated and loved!

And…If you find yourself in some stressful or tense situations, as some holiday traveling can bring, remember to breathe and just let everything work out the way it is meant to. The Universe doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle, so just remember that 😉 Stay calm, and maybe even try meditating for a few moments, or anything that gets you back into a state of love. Once your back into the right state, try to stay there for as long as you can and start seeing everyone and everything with love again! It will make your day filled with even more love and joy, I promise!

On a different note, I would just like to say a special thank you to all of my amazing readers, aka friends because we are all friends here ;), for sticking with me and coming back to Petite Serendipity every week and reading my blog! Without all of you I wouldn’t be doing this and living my dream, so a BIG BIG thank you to all of you! You all take up a special place in my heart and mean more to me than your could possibly know ❤

I have so much love, gratitude, and appreciation for YOU!

And, an extra big thank you to Julee’s Jewelry for letting me play with some diamonds the other day. If you are ever in need of something special for a loved one, be sure to check them out! They have the most amazing staff and a great selection of jewelry to choose from, they even do custom too! Thank you!

I’ll sign off for now and I’ll see you back here in the new year! Speaking of which, it’s almost my ONE YEAR anniversary for Petite Serendipity! Whoop whoop!! How crazy amazing is that, right?! My next post will be all about my one year, so be sure to check back on Monday January 1st, 2018 for the one year post! Ekk!

Until then, with all of my love:

Have a great day!

Game Plan

Giving your all up to the Universe is the way to go, but sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands and create a #GamePlan. When we notice things aren’t working out they way we had wished them to it’s time for us to intervene and get what we are looking for… It can be frustrating, annoying, un encouraging, and hard to handle when we are stagnant and not progressing, believe me I’ve been there and have done that so I get it,. So it’s in times like these that they call for a game plan.

It’s not that we are working against the Universe, it’s that we are working hand in hand with it to help speed up the process, nothing like putting in a little elbow grease, am I right?! 😉 Doing this will also help us feel more attached to what it is we are working towards, and makes it a little more personal.

Game-Plan2And here’s how it’s done.

The first things first is to establish exactly what it is you desire, aka, what you want to accomplish or achieve. Think of it as the main reason you are creating your game plan, so you really want to be specific in order to kick it into action. Once you have established that, I encourage you to right it down somewhere and keep it in a place you can see it often. You could hang a piece of paper onto your mirror, create a note on your laptop, or make it all cute and artsy and hang it up in your room. The key here is to keep it in sight and in mind.

After you have accomplished that, the next step to to create a list of ways you can move forwards towards your desire(s). They can be anything really broad, or very specific. Think of it in all aspects of your life- it could be anything as specific as meditating for ten minutes a day, to as broad as choosing to live through love. This lis can be five things lone or twenty things long, just tailor it towards you and what it is that you want! Some things will require more work than others but that’s okay! Your goal is to just keep moving forwards until you can accomplish it.

Once you have compiled your list, the next thing to establish is a time limit. Now this time limit should be realistic and attainable, something you can manage without putting too much stress on you. The bigger the goal, the longer it will take, realistically, and vice versa. For instance, if your want to become a doctor, that will take a significant more amount of time than wanting to attract a relationship into your life- get the picture? So create a time line that you think is manageable and then find out where the half way make is. Put that half way point into you calendar, as a reminder on your phone, or something, so that way you can check in and see how you are doing. It serves as a good self check point will help you stay on track.

Game-Plan3And finally, once all that is set in stone, kick it into gear and start going! The time is now to start working towards your desire(s). There is no need to wait until tomorrow, the new year, or six months from now, this is your time so don’t waste it! And plus, if you start now, that means you are already one day closer to it, so that’s pretty cool right?!

Remember, we are still working with the Universe hand in hand, so keep that in mind. Just know that you are never alone and never have to accomplish anything on your own, we are all here for each other so ask for help when you need it!

What are your desires? How will you accomplish them? What is your time line?

As always,

Have a great day!

The Art of Receiving

The-Art-of-ReceivingReceiving help, gift, compliments, or anything for that matter can be a hard thing to do, especially if you’re not use to it… I believe the main reason we all have such a hard time receiving is because it can be looked down upon from others… There seems to be this stigma that we are all supposed to do everything an anything on our own, or that it’s selfish if we accept/ acknowledge it… which is completely backwards in my opinion. I believe that we should all have open arms and welcome all forms of help, gifts, compliments, ect. into our life. Accepting and receiving helps us know that we are in line with our higher selves and that the positive energy is flowing through us at a high vibe✨

So brake down those barriers and start receiving today!

For starters, when someone offers to help you when you are clearly struggling, take them up on it. It let’s them know that you actually heard them, trust them, and value their form of help. For some people, acts of service is their love language, so let them show you their affection! You never know how much it might mean for someone 😉 Another pointer to go by is you can really tell by how someone offered to help if they truly meant it or not, so go with your gut and trust your instincts.

Another form of receiving can be with compliments or gifts from others. When someone compliments you or gives you a nice little present say, “Thank you” and mean it! Don’t brush it off as if they didn’t say anything, put yourself down, or get embarrassed- no! Look them in the eyes, say “thank you!” and own it! As mentioned above, it shows that you actually heard them, value their generosity, and are grateful to have received it. So the next time someone comments on your cute outfit say “thank you” and not, “Oh this old thing, I’ve had it for years.” Say thank you, own it, and know that you look bomb in that cute outfit of yours. (There is no shame in this game;) )

And more than anything, know that you are worthy to receive! You are worthy to receive from all others and all that you desire. Feel no guilt or shame for anything and everything you want. This is your life and your world, chase after what makes you happy and welcome it into your life with open arms.

One thing that I have noticed from experience is that welcoming a receiving energy into your life invites abundance to flow and move through you. It shows the Universe that you are ready and willing to accept even bigger and better things into your world. So open those arms and heart wide open and get ready to start receiving.

If you find yourself having trouble with receiving, start out with baby steps- one thing at a time. Maybe it could be finally taking someone up on their offering to help, or saying “thank you” to a kind complement, and work your way up from there. Another thing you could also try is repeating the mantra, “I am open and willing to receive” a few times a day. I find that mantras really help me hone-in and get back into the right mindset. The more I say it, the more I believe it and the more I believe it, the more it becomes my reality. If this is something new to you, try it out and give it a go! It’s harmless and you can do no wrong, and it’s kind of fun 😉

So start today with your new found practice of receiving and let me know you it goes! I know that you will start to notices changes in yourself and the world around you, I’m sure of it!

Are you already a natural receiver? How can you become a better one? What is holding you back from being open to receive right now?

Have a great day!

Outfits from November

Happy Friday friends!🌸

Today I am rounding up a few of my favorite looks from the month of November, yay! Some of these outfits made the blog earlier, and others are brand new! So get ready to scroll through and get some new outfit ideas. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

Okay, seriously, how fun is this top?! The pearl detail is so cute and it’s what really makes me love this top! It just takes it up a notch, don’t you think?! And on top of that, it is made out of such a comfy and stretchy material, grate for long days and pairing it with anything and everything! Here I just paired it with a pair of denim and my loafers, a basic formula to always have a great look 😉

Okay, in all honesty, this might be my favorite sweater/sweatshirt ever! It is SO fun and different! It has a cropped hem and fun bishop sleeves- talk about a stand-out piece! The texture of it is soo soft and comfy! I could wear it all day long, everyday! This top has been so fun to pair with a ton of different looks. My favorite ways so far have been with my trusty denim skirt and high waisted jeans, as shown here. For this look I chose my Just Black denim, again, and my favorite over the knee boots. I love this look becasue it’s a tad edgy but still very feminine!

We’ve already seen this sweater several times before but I just can’t seem to get enough of it! It is SO soft and easy to wear! I love pairing it with my denim skirt and OTK boots, but also pairing it with light washed denim and loafers for an easy and casual look. I have also been trying something new with my hair by doing a half up, half down look and I kind of like it! Even as I am typing this I almost have the same look on head to toe as show here, haha oops! I’m a creature of habit, what can I say!

Ahhh my trusty denim skirt that I obviously loooove! I seriously need to get another one because this one has seen so much wear! 😆Haha! I paired this beautiful sweater from Primp with my denim skirt and fav OTK boots! This is such a fun and simple look but looks so cool and put together. Also can we talk about this burgundy color?! I love it and this is the first article of clothing I have in it, and I feel like I might need more 😉

In this picture it is kind of hard to tell but I had on a really cool blazer, along with my Just Black denim and black booties. For me it gave kind of a fun and edgier vibe, and not going to lie, I kind of felt like a “cool” person, ha! For me, it is sooo fun to dress outside my comfort zone and experiment with different styles, cuts, and colors. It keeps me on my toes and helps me relate better to others when I am style them. Just always trying to stay on top of my game, you know?! 😉

And there ya have it!  A few of my favorite looks from the month of November in one post. I hope you enjoyed it and got a few outfit ideas! Have a grate weekend and be sure to come back on Monday for a NEW post!

As always,

Have a great day!!

December Intentions- Intentional Living

December-intentionsHappy December everyone!🎄

I hope that this last month of the year bring you time to reflect and set some intentions. With the new year coming up so soon and new years resolutions to follow, to only be forgotten two weeks later. Rather than waiting until the new year to make “resolutions” start now- and make them as often as you see fit! Self improvement should never be on a time restraint, we should all be striding to live our best lives each and every day!

One thing I do to continuously keep me inline with the person I want to become is at the beginning of each month, I like to set specific intentions and focus on them all month long. I write them out on a piece of paper and make them look all cute. I’ll hang it in my room and also take a picture and ave it as my phone scree saver. But anyway you feel best fits you will work great!

I start by looking back on the past month and notice things that I would like to see shift and all throughout the month I try to make that happen. Typically, I will have four to five intentions, some change and some carry over, depending on how I see fit. For me, this is a way to be truly present in each and every thing I do. I helps remind me of my “whys”. Like why I am doing what I am doing and why I am working towards the specific goals that I am. More than anything, it helps me be intentional.

This month I wanted to share one of my intentions with all of your becasue I thought it would be a great way for you to get inspired and start making your own monthly, quarterly, or yearly intentions. I recognized that once I started practicing this I started living in my life more, rather than just existing in it, and I wanted to let you all in on my little secrete 😉

One intention I set for myself for the month of December is, “slow the heck down and enjoy life. Be more present.” Yes, you read that right. I want to be even more present than I already am and I want to enjoy my life on an even deeper level! If this is me and my life than I want to slow down and actually have free-time. I want to use my free time for a little R&R so when I get to spend time surrounded with the people I love I will be more alive and awake! I’ll truly enjoy their presence and be with them in that moment. And if you think taking time for yourself, and by yourself is selfish, please change the way you are viewing it. We all need to take time for ourselves so we can take care of ourselves and fully get the rest and restoration we rightfully, and sometimes desperately need.

For me and my free time this could look like: practicing yoga, reading, playing with my dogs, or simply watching a movie and going to bed early. For you this could look like: going to the gym, trying out a new recipe, or taking a bath. Anything that makes you happy and makes you feel good, go for it!

One reason I desired to make December the month of ~slowing down~, was because I recognized how fast I was running and in so many different directions. I realized that I don’t want to be one of those that respond, “Oh I am SO busy” when someone asks me how I am. I want to respond with more meaning and passion than that, but “busy” has become the norm and, truly, this could be seen as an epidemic 😉

Another reason, I was watching a Gabby Bernstein video (because duh ;)) and she said, “You’ll start to speed up, once you slow down.” and that hit me hard, like really hard. What Gabby meant by this is, the things in our live that we are trying to attract and manifest will come more naturally and quickly once we start to slow down and put more focus and attention onto them. Once we have time for them to come into our lives, they will come. For example, if your dream is to own your own business but you are too busy with twenty other things on your daily plate, you’ll never attract and start that business you’ve been dreaming up in your head. However, once you start to hone in and set your intentions and create time for you to give it all your attention and focus, you will start to create your wildest dreams into your reality. So go for it!

Take time today to set some intentions for yourself for the month of December. Just try it out and see how it feels. At the end of the month you notice and difference, or if not, it’s great either way. Just know that this is the life you have and try to live it with your own intentions!

How will you start to live more intentionally? How can you incorporate these into your everyday life?

As always,

Have a great day!

Friendship is a beautiful thing, but finding friends who love and support us can be like finding a diamond in the rough- and man oh man, when we find them, we better hold onto them for life.

I recently read a quote that said, “There are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family.” and I thought it was so true and I wanted to right a post on it, naturally. 😉

I know that once I welcome loving friendships into my life I do view them as family, and to me, it creates a deeper and more meaningful relationship. I think there is nothing more genuine because life should be filled with meaningful and purposeful relationships. Friendship, and any relationship for that matter, should go both ways and be two sided. We should reach out to them, tell them how special they are, love them and support them, help them reach their dreams, and in return, they should do the same for us.

We should be able to talk about anything and everything to our true friends and be able to fully act ourselves and not hide anything. We shouldn’t have to put a mask on to please others when we are around them. We are all meant to live our own genuine life and never feel bad about who we are. If we find ourselves doing this we need to stop and reevaluate what exactly we are benefiting from that friendship. Sometimes it takes a little moving on to find out what we really want in life and who is actually there to support us.

It’s important to know that the friendships we need to move on from were still meant to come into our lives for some reason or another. We all have something to learn from one another, so take that and give thanks for the experiences and new found knowledge. Give thanks for past, present, and future friendships and relationships and for all the experiences, joys and memories because they help us create who we are. The Universe wouldn’t send anyone into our lives without a reason, it just might take a little digging to find it.

When the Universe sends us our most genuine friends you can just feel it and there is no other way to explain it. It’s like we’ve known them all our lives and there is just a “click”. We feel a deep connection and could never grow tired of them. When we are around them we feel our most genuine and inspired selves. There are deep and meaningful conversations that we both mutually grow and learn from, experiences that fill our souls with pure joy and happiness, and we know that we would do anything to love, support, and help them in anyway. They help us become the best version of ourselves and we do the same to them, and in the process they become like family to us.

Friends truly are just an extension of our family, but what is so unique is that we get to pick them and hand select them and welcome them into our beautiful lives. Not all friendships will be easy, some will be messy and some hard to find, but it’s what we go and grow through together that crates all of our bonds stronger. So if we’ve found our people, we need to hold them close and thank them for being in our lives.

How do you know when you’ve found a true friend? In what ways do you love and support them? How could you become a better friend?

As always,

Have a great day!

The Joy of Being Thankful

the-joy-of-being-thankful2In the spirt of Thanksgiving being this week, I have been feeling extra thankful and grateful, and I hope you are too! Besides being thankful just on Thanksgiving, I think we should be thankful all year long and in as many ways as possible. Gratitude is definitely an attitude and it’s easy to switch it on and off without even realizing it- so let’s spread the joy of the holiday season and do our best to keep it “on” as much as we can! 🙂

With the holidays being a busy time of year it’s easy to think about the negatives once one thing starts going wrong, but it’s better and more rewarding to remind ourselves all that we are thankful for. Not only does this help pull us out of that low vibration energy, but it also returns us to a state of love. Try to remember that we are all created equal and everyone can be seen through love. I know from personal experiences that if I catch myself starting to think negative I take a moment to pause, reflect on my thoughts, and shift my thinking around. I remind myself all that I am tankful for and within moments my day is turned around. And you know what, sometimes it’s the little things that can really add up to show us how fortunate we are. Little things like: our health, education, employment, car, clean water, having clothing to wear and food to eat. And then of course, we always have our friends, family and pets to be thankful for at all times.

I get it though, sometimes it is hard to think like this, especially if we are butting heads with a family member or friends. But when we start to remind ourself how thankful we are for them, it helps to loosen the tension and helps us to see them with love again. And if it is truly time for someone to move on for our lives we can be thankful for all the good times we had together and all that we have learned from them, becasue no matter what, we can all learn something from each other, even if it’s just something small…

So for this Thanksgiving I want to challenge you to create a list of your own. You can do it either on your phone, laptop, or even just on a sheet of paper and write down anything and everything you are thankful for. Keep it in a place where you can see it daily and if you wanted too, you could put it in multiple places too. When you look at it remind yourself how you feel when you are in a state of gratitude, because remember, it affects your attitude 😉 Then, when are catch yourself in low vibrational thoughts, pause acknowledge your feelings, give them up to the universe, and shift your thinking around. You can look at your list to help you get back in a state of thankfulness and come back real quick.

If you need some ideas, here are a few things on my list: my family, my friends, my job at Primp, my health,  my education, and fresh flowers in the Spring time.

With all that said, I hope you have a very thankful Thanksgiving and I am so over the moon grateful for YOU reading this!! Thank you for coming back to my blog and reading it each week, it means more to me than you’ll ever know! Now, have an amazing holiday weekend with your loved ones and remember to be extra thankful this holiday season!

As always,

Have a grate day!
